Nitish Swami from Walton Institute, SETU member of the SEE Space Network presented his research in the field of quantum communications for the future networks at Equity 2.0 which took place at University College Dublin on 28th – 29th September 2022. Nitish presented his work on a quantum key distribution (QKD) network that uses free space optical (FSO) links to connect end users. Nitish, who is working in optical systems for satellite based quantum communication networks, proposed the use of High altitude Platforms(HAPs) for an all EU QKD network.
