Dr. Mark Wylie

Dr Mark Wylie is a lecturer/researcher in the AME Department at I.T Carlow. Mark is a Mechanical Engineering graduate and attended the International Space University SSP (2008).  In 2010, Mark obtained the role of Team Lead for a sounding rocket experimental payload with ESA and DLR for a novel Carbon fiber telescopic boom system for E-field probes. In 2012, Mark received his PhD in in the area of catheter delivered ultrasonic angioplasty for use in Percutaneous Transluminal Interventions (PTI). Mark was Principal Mechanical Engineer at Curtiss Wright Defense for a 5-year period. This involved designing/qualifying electronic systems on-board manned and un-manned spacecraft. Mark currently supervises a PhD student in the area of structural analysis of PCBs and electronic components for the launch environment.
