INSQT hosts the first ‘Quantum Space Engineering and the Space Quantum Internet’ Workshop
The first INSQT, International Network in Space Quantum Technologies, workshop took place 3 – 5 August 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland. The aim of this workshop was to identify key topics or challenges, stimulate cross-community interaction, and facilitate future research exchanges between INSQT members.
Members of SEE Space Network attended the three days of the workshop, building their network of research and stakeholders in the quantum space. Deirdre Kilbane, Director of Research in Walton Institute, SETU, presented Ireland’s Quantum Network to a room of fellow like-minded quantum researchers who are excited to learn more about Ireland’s standing in quantum research throughout Europe.
The INSQT is an open community of scientists and engineers working to bring quantum technologies into space. The Network is funded by the UK Engineering Physical Sciences and Engineering Council (EPSRC) and the UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), and is led by the Department of Physics, University of Strathclyde.
Following on from the success of the first workshop, organisers have begun to host the second INSQT workshop titled Space Quantum Engineering which will address developmental challenges across SQT domains.
